Faculty Performance Review Components • Annual Review • Promotion • Tenure • Post-Tenure Review
Tasks • Review TWU policies on faculty performance review and recommend revisions • Resolve ambiguities in current evaluation processes • Recommend additional approaches beyond student course evaluations to evaluate instructional effectiveness • Explore possibilities for reducing workloads associated with conducting performance reviews • Make recommendations regarding the possibility of adopting teaching and research faculty performance tracks, including criteria for each track
Task Force Membership • 10 faculty including 4 Faculty Senate members • 2 Council of Chairs representatives • Representatives from Dallas, Denton, and Houston
Methodology • Research performance review policies and practices at peer universities • Review literature on faculty performance review topics • Survey faculty perceptions of current TWU performance review policies and practices • Develop recommendations for policies and procedures • Conduct faculty focus groups on recommendations • Communicate with faculty throughout the process so that recommendations are viable when presented

MOOC COMMITTEE • What is a MOOC? A scalable internet-based course that provides structure, a social environment, and automated feedback on learning that is free to everyone with no expectation of direct interaction with an instructor.
