Ranching • Ranching is a business of raising grazing livestock which would be sheep or cattle for the meats, wool, and hide. • Less common ranching livestock would be elk, American bison, even ostrich, emu, and alpacas. • All of which are usually ranched in the United States and Canada. • A livestock that is a stray is called a maverick • cattle are all kinds of cows and bulls • Bulls are male cattle • Cow's are female cattle
The Care of Horses • Need large amounts of water, salt, and minerals • Drink 5-10 gallons of water a day • The only kind of hay, alfalfa or grass to feed horses is very high quality hay, alfalfa, and or grass • Have to keep the hooves neat and trimmed so they do not crack
