  2. IPM in Katy ISD • Katy ISD has an IPM program that involves using the least toxic efficient method of controlling pests. This sometimes involves the judicious use of pesticides. Periodic pesticide applications are made. • All applications must be made in accordance with the label and by a Certified Applicator. The least-hazardous effective pesticides will be employed. • The District IPM Coordinator must approve all pesticide applications and employ or contract all Certified Applicators. • If you are not a Certified Applicator employed or contracted by the district to make pesticide applications, YOU MAY NOT POSSESS OR APPLY PESTICIDES ON DISTRICT PROPERTY. • In compliance with State law, a consumer information sheet and a pest control sign will be posted 48 hours in advance of planned treatments to notify individuals who work or reside in the building that a pesticide application will be made. Entry to the treated area is generally prohibited for 4 hours, unless another time frame is indicated by the pesticide product label. • Individuals with high chemical sensitivity (including parents in regard to their children) may wish to submit a written request to receive notification and information before all pesticide applications. • Applications may be made without 48 hour notice if the treatments are unplanned and in response to a pest situation that endangers staff or students.
