  1. Verb Tense 39: I can identify and use the correct verb tense.

  2. Different Tenses • Infinitive • Original form (To Laugh, To Cry) • Past • Something that has already happened! • Present • Something that is happening RIGHT NOW!!!! • Future • Something that is going to happen!

  3. Examples! • Past Tense • I laughed at his joke. • I jumped out of the car. • I loved that movie. • Future Tense • I will go swimming tomorrow. • I will dance at the wedding reception. • I will eat ten million pieces of pizza this weekend.

  4. More Examples! • Present Tense • Sarah loves to dance. • Mr. Craigeatsunhealthy food. • I am taking notes.

  5. Need to know… • GENERAL RULES • Past: Ends in “ed” • Future: Includes a “will” • Present: S or no S?

  6. There is one in every crowd… • Feeled? Drived? Putted? Eated? • Not every verb follows the rules. • There are a ton! Here are some examples: • EXAMPLES: • To Feel: Felt • To Drive: Drove • To Put: Put (NO CHANGE?!?!) • To Eat: Ate • To Be: Was/Were • To Hear: Heard
