Quote “The Chinese people have stood up. The standing up was very meaningful Chinese people were on their knees” -Mao Zedong Explanation- He is telling him that they are not weak they have power to stand up and choose who they want to follow. He is trying to get them to follow him.

He says that the old government was wrong, and that they are better so they should be followed.
