  2. PROJECT DETAILS • 1148 OF DWELLINGS TO BE RECTIFIED • BUDGETED AT R 84 000.00 / UNIT • TOTAL BUDGET R 96 million • EXPECTED START DATE: 04 APRIL 2011 • PROPOSED PROJECT DURATION: 18 MONTHS

  3. PROJECT SCOPE • SUPERSTRUCTURE (INTERNAL) • SUPERSTRUCTURE (EXTERNAL) • CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE

  4. SUPERSTRUCTURE (INTERNAL) • Remove existing defective plaster • Re-plaster walls • Re-paint walls • Remove old in-situ floor coverings in leaving and sleeping areas and replace with ceramic tiles • Replace all old and leaking plumbing works

  5. SUPERSTRUCTURE (INTERNAL)… • Remove all existing widow frame and replace them with aluminum window frames • Remove all door frames and replace them with new timber door frames • Remove all doors and replace them with new doors • Replace all old and defective geysers with new ones

  6. SUPERSTRUCTURE (INTERNAL)… • Remove all existing bathroom furniture and replace with new furniture • Replace all bath tubs with showers • Tile all bathrooms floors and walls with ceramic tiles

  7. SUPERSTRUCTURE (EXTERNAL) • Remove defective old plaster on walls • Re-plaster walls • Install waterproofing band to bottom of walls • Waterproof damp areas • Re-paint walls • Install new door canopies

  8. SUPERSTRUCTURE (EXTERNAL)… • Remove all existing roof structure including the hazardous asbestos roof sheeting and old ceilings • Re-install new roof structure including new • New roof timber trusses • New timber roof anchors • New timber wall plates • New roof under lays • New timber purling • New concrete roof or other

  9. SUPERSTRUCTURE (EXTERNAL)… • Re-install new ceilings • Install new wash-line paved areas • Provide new extra bin areas

  10. CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE… • SEWER NETWORK • Replace all defective and corroded wall mounted pipes • Replace all defective and corroded fittings including leaking inspection eyes • Inspect and fix all detected leaking manholes

  11. CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE • WATER SUPPLY • Replace all defective wall mounted pipes • Replace all defective fittings including valves and meters • Inspect and fix all leak- detected buried pipes

  12. CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE… • STORM WATER • Replace all defective and corroded wall mounted pipes • Replace all defective and corroded gutters • Inspect and clean all blocked down pipes • Replace defective or install new concrete aprons • Install new or repair all defective concrete channels
