  2. Life Before The Attic • The Frank family practiced the Jewish religion • Lead a very normal, happy life • Lived in an apartment in Amsterdam • Anne and her sister Margot went to school every day and had many friends • Father, Otto Frank owned a business

  3. Life Before the Attic • Father, Otto Frank • Mother, Edith Frank • First daughter, Margot Frank was born in 1926 • Anne Frank born in 1929 • Anne’s full name is Anneliese Marie Frank

The Beginning • Hitler was forming concentration camps and forcing Jewish into them • Was against all people who were different- the Jewish, crippled people, and different races besides pure German • Margot Frank (Anne’s Sister) was called to go to a concentration camp • The Frank family decided to go into hiding instead of reporting to the Nazis

  5. Moving into the Attic • Left notes saying they were leaving the country to fool others • Family moved into attic of Otto Frank’s company warehouse • Wore many layers of clothing instead of carrying suitcases so as to not look suspicious • Had people who helped the Frank family such as Miep Gies.
