  2. Timeline 1451 Ottomans take Asia Minor, Bulgaria. 1453 Ottomans take Constantinople. end 15th c: Ottomans have taken parts of Balkans, Eastern Europe. 16th-17th c: Conflict between Ottomans and Safavids. 1516-17 Ottomans take Mamluk sultanate.
