  3. Childhood cont. • Great talent for horses: • Legend says that he tamed his horse Bucephalus when no one else could. • King Philip attacked Persia • Philip assassinated in a theatre in Aegaea in 336 BC

  4. Conquests • Campaigned against Persians (finishing father’s work) • Oracle of Delphi convinced Alexander he was invincible • Little resistance in Egypt and Babylon • Named many cities “Alexandria” after himself
