This initiative focuses on resolving organizational and funding challenges related to Amur tiger conservation in Russia. Key actions include ensuring the protection of tiger habitats and developing a comprehensive network of protected areas (PAs) within their range. Efforts have successfully restored the tiger population from just 30-40 individuals in the 1940s to approximately 450-500 by 2005. Additionally, community compensation measures support local populations and mitigate conflicts with tigers, promoting coexistence and biodiversity conservation.
