  1. What are the major fallacies for Cord Blood Banking? • You must have heard of Umbilical Cord blood banking. Basically, it is the process of acquiring and salting away the umbilical blood of newborns. During pregnancy, the cord is formed and is attached from the babies belly to the placenta of the mother’s womb. It plays a vital role in supplying the nutrients and oxygen for the growth and development of the fetus. With the advances in medicine, this chance is given only once in a lifetime to use it as a medicine for various diseases in future. Besides, so many advantages, this brand new concept is still been surrounded by lot of question marks. • The families who donate the umbilical cord of their child can have full access in future. Again this is a false assumption and a rumor in fact that families will not get access in future for their near and dear ones. Today, the cancer is such a disease which is rapidly growing and treatment with stem cells has made its mark in the field of medicine. • People have a false belief that the cord blood could not be used for the same child because it contain diseases and may cause to infection. This is simply a baseless rumor as stem cells are highly recommended by physicians because diseases like leukemia, lymphoma, and brain disorders arthritis have shown the positive results after applying stem cell therapies to patients.
