Preparing for CD-0 CD-1 for past projects is now the new CD-0 • Need a well developed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and a mature WBS Dictionary • Needed to establish structure and chargeable task codes (CTC) in Project Accounting (TPC tracking starts at CD-0) • Needed to establish schedule to get to CD-1 • Create and Maintain Key Assumption Document (Cost, Schedule, Technical and Programmatic) • Core Project Staff Assigned and Staffing Plan developed for bringing on the additional staff 30-Sep-2010 Project X WGM

WBS, Control Accounts, and Chargeable Task Codes • Control Account (CA) – Intersection between the WBS and OBS where variance analysis will be preformed and VARs generated if thresholds are triggered. • Charge Task Code (CTC) – Is the level that actual cost are collected • Task in Fermi’s financial system (Oracle PA) • Task that Fermi people charge their time in Kronos. • Only one type of funding per CTC (i.e. OPC, PED, Line Item, …) • Separate CTCs for each contract • Separate CTCs for same work being done at separate locations/institution 30-Sep-2010 Project X WGM
