Optical Fibers • Baseline solution • 216 ~15m single fibers with LC termination running from RCT racks to GCT racks (COTs) • 24 (26) breakout cassettes 12*LC to 1*MPO (COTs) • 24 (26) ~2m fiber bundles, each with 12 internal fibers (COTs) • Modified solution under investigation • 18 ~15m 12 fiber ribbons with 12 * LC termination in both ends • Somewhat specially made • 24 (26) ~2m 12 fiber ribbons with 12 * LC termination in one end and MPO termination on the other • Somewhat specially made • Advantages • Only 1 bundle / RCT crate to pull between floors • One optical connector less M.
