The X-Matrix. A tool used to support the planning and deployment of Hoshin Kanri. Introducing the X-Matrix. An X-Matrix is used to create an overview of the Hoshin Kanri plan within an organization. An X-Matrix will initially be filled out by the Hoshin Team when planning objectives.

Introducing the X-Matrix • An X-Matrix is used to create an overview of the Hoshin Kanri plan within an organization. • An X-Matrix will initially be filled out by the Hoshin Team when planning objectives. • Other teams will draft their own X-Matrices as Hoshin Kanri is deployed across the organization. www.uttana.com

  4. The Strategies Section • This is where two to five strategic objectives should be listed, usually in terms of cost, functionality, quality, and profitability. www.uttana.com

  5. The Tactics Section • This section provides space to list up to ten of the organization's improvement initiatives and projects. www.uttana.com

  6. The Targets Section • Targets for process improvements that are in line with the strategy and tactics. • These need to be stated in terms of measurable performance www.uttana.com

  7. The Results Section • This section is for forecasting the financial impact of the improvement activity, including changes in cost and revenue. www.uttana.com

  8. Correlations • Between each of these sections there are areas to chart the correlation between the different elements. www.uttana.com

  9. The Team Members Section • List team members who will work together to accomplish the goals laid out in the tactics section. www.uttana.com

  10. Accountability • Fill out the Accountability chart right above the Team Members section. • This is very similar to the Correlation charts. www.uttana.com
