  3. Mission To provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistanceto members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows and survivorswhen in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.

  4. Who we Serve • Active duty and retired USN and USMC personnel and their eligible family members • Eligible family members of USN and USMC personnel who died on active duty or in a retired status • USN and USMC Reservists on extended active duty for 30 days or more • Indigent widows and mothers of deceased USN and USMC personnel

  5. General Policy & Procedures • Needs vs. Wants • Interest free loans and grants • Budgets with every appointment • Case by case decisions • Takes 2 people for a “No” • Confidentiality Policy

Areas of Assistance Basic Living Expenses (Food, Shelter, Utilities, Communication services) Establishing Household Transportation Due to Illness of Family Member Vehicle Repair and other vehicle related expenses Medical Dental & Orthodontia Funeral Expenses CO Verified Pay Problems & other Pay Problems Establishing Home Child Care Facilities

  8. Quick Assist Loans (QAL) • ACTIVE DUTY ONLY • Maximum $500 loan to assist with needs • No outstanding balance of any kind with NMCRS • Only 2 QALs in a 12 month period • No UCMJ or NJP • Need ID & recent LES to apply • every 3rd QAL requires a budget with a caseworker • QALs are for needs: • housing, food, clothing, and utilities • medical expenses / dental • vehicle expenses / transportation • family emergency
