In our experiment, our group constructed a paddle/balloon boat to explore principles of buoyancy and propulsion. Initially, the boat was equipped only with a balloon, which limited its ability to float effectively. To enhance its performance, we applied tape to both the balloon and the paddle, ensuring better stability and functionality. The introduction of a paddle significantly increased the boat's speed, while the balloon provided the necessary lift. Our modifications demonstrated the importance of design iterations in optimizing a boat's efficiency and movement in water.

Boat Launching-Science By: Connor Brown
Process of Experiments • Our group built a paddle/balloon boat • We made it float better by putting tape on the balloon and on the paddle • We made it move better by adding a paddle, then a balloon to the top
Modifications Made • When we first built the boat, we had just a balloon. So we put a paddle on the boat to make it go faster and longer. • The balloon wasn’t staying so to keep it on, we put a bunch of tape around the tip.
