  3. The trees were planted around 1930. Many people think that they were bent in this shape on purpose. Pine is a very durable wood. The pine trees may have been used to make the ribs for boats or the yokes for ploughs. But before they could be cut down, the Second World War broke out. So why the trees were planted like that is still a mystery.

Sometimes we can eat the seeds, like when we eat cucumbers; sometimes we don’t like to eat the seeds, like when we eat grapes. 29. >> 文化链接: 《蚂蚁与蚱蜢》选自古希腊民间故事集《伊索寓言》。《伊索寓言》广泛采用拟人化手法,以动物为喻,教人处世和做人的道理,故文中动物的英文名称皆为首字大写。 “Don’t worry. The winter is still very far away,” said the Grasshopper, laughing at the Ant. But the Ant wouldn’t listen and kept working hard. When the winter came, the hungry Grasshopper went to the Ant’s house and begged for some food. “If you had listened to me in summer, you would not be in need now.
