Nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining overall health, with carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water being essential elements. Carbohydrates should make up 55% of our diets and come in two types: complex (starches) and simple (sugars), providing energy for the body and brain. Fats include unsaturated, saturated, and trans fats, crucial for brain function. Proteins, containing amino acids, are important for muscle and organ health. Fiber, vitamins, and minerals support digestive health and bodily functions. Adequate water intake, about 8 glasses a day, is essential for hydration.
