Referred Cases 1,187 cases were referred to settlement conference during Fiscal Year 2009-10. 1,095 conferences were paid for in Fiscal Year 2009-10. 761cases have been captured and are graphically displayed on the following charts. 415 cases are pending receipt of reports or actual conference. 11cases were cancelled before reaching conference.

  4. Agreement Rate 58.7% of referred cases successfully reached an agreement either during or soon after the conference Note: This does NOT include pending cases

  5. Length of Conferences The average length of a conference is 3.3 hours.

  6. Referring Circuit Courts • Virginia Beachhas referred 17% of the cases during Fiscal Year 2009-10. • 70%of all FY09-10 cases were referred by 10 courts in the Tidewater Area (Hampton, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, James City/Williamsburg, Norfolk, Newport News, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, York and Chesapeake). • 30%of the cases in FY09-10 were referred by 72 other courtsacross Virginia. • A total of 82 circuit courts referred cases during the fiscal year.
