Course Objective The main objective of this course is to • Describe the characteristics of Op-Amp and its internal structure. • Explain implementation of linear and nonlinear applications of Op-amp. • Introduce special purpose IC’s such as PLL, Converters and their applications. • Teach designing of active filters and oscillators using operational amplifiers. PES's MCOE E & TC Department

Course Outcomes After successfully completing the course students will be able to: • Explain internal structure and characteristics of Op-Amp. • Determine various performance parameters of op-amp and Explain their significance. • Analyze and Implement linear and nonlinear applications of Op-Amp. • Designconverters, Oscillators and filters using Op-amp. • Explain and Apply functionalities of PLL. • Improvewritten, oral, and presentation skills related to Integrated Circuits and engage in life-long learning. AssessmentStrategy • MCQ test 1 in MOODLE on 16/01/2018 of 25 marks on Unit 1 and 2 • MCQ test2 in MOODLE on 26/02/2018 of 25 marks on Unit 3 and 4 • Subjective test on 27/03/2018 of 25 marks on Unit 5 and 6 • Term work marks will be calculated based on the average of all three tests and scaled to 25 marks.
