  14. Current Issue • Settlement Agreement reached 1/4/2011 • $74,500 penalty • Must sell land to VitAg Company “for the purpose of constructing a biosolids treatment plant” • Must submit proposal for 3rd party oversight of operations

  15. Current Issue • Ratification of N-Viro Contract (Y11-172) • Emergency contract for biosolids hauling and treatment for EWRF and NWRF • Effective 12/1/10 thru 2/28/11 (90 days) with option for 30-day extension • $55.25 per wet ton • Estimated contract amount for 90 days is $894,000

  17. Next Steps • Currently advertising IFB Y11-178 • New annual contract for biosolids hauling and treatment • Bid opening on 1/13/11 • Successful bidder will commence operations at the end of the 90-day term of the N-Viro contract • One year term with two renewals of one year each

  18. Next Steps • Dewatering improvements • IFB to be issued for pre-purchase of three centrifuges in February 2011 • Anticipated cost of equipment is $1,500,000 • Equipment purchase will require BCC approval • IFB to be issued for installation

Requested Action • Ratification of Emergency Contract Y11-172 Transport, Processing and Disposal of Biosolids from the Eastern Water Reclamation Facility and Northwest Water Reclamation Facility in the estimated contract amount of $893,849 and authorization for contract extension of one month for an additional $297,849, if necessary
