  1. Intolerable Acts Unbearable or unreasonablelaws to punish the colonists after the Boston Tea Party; the laws took all of the power away from colonial government. 1. Boston Harbor was closed 2. Massachusetts's charter was cancelled 3. Royal officials accused of crimes were sent to more friendly judges and jury in Britain. 4. Quartering Act required colonists to house British soldiers. 5. Gave large amount of land to the Quebec colony. 6. New Governor of Massachusetts.

  2. Sons & Daughters of Liberty Organizationsformed in the American colonies to protest the new taxes (Stamp Act). Sometimes the groups turned to violence

  4. Boycott A systematic refusal to buy products produced by a particular group, company, or country. 

  5. Committee of Correspondence Committees created by the Massachusetts House of Representatives in the 1760s to help towns and colonies share information about resisting British laws. Resist British Laws!!!

  6. Stamp Act Law passed by Parliament in 1765 that required all printed materials sold in the colonies to carry a tax stamp.  The stamps had to be put on newspapers, legal documents, and even playing cards. 

  7. Quartering Acts Required American colonists to house British soldiers. Get my room ready  American colonists!!

  8. Boston Massacre Angry colonists for a clash with British troops in 1770 that left five colonists dead.  A group of some 50 colonists was taunting the soldiers and throwing snowballs when shooting broke out.  The British killed five colonist!

  9. Minutemen American colonial militia members ready to fight in a minute’s notice. Just give us a minute to grab our guns!

  10. 1st Continental Congress The meeting of representatives from the colonies in 1774 to plan a response to the Intolerable Acts.
