  1. CEMCQ2nd hour Adult Christian Ed The study of The Last Thing Pre-Millennialism (Part III)

  2. 4th (Roman) Empire

  3. A period of 70 sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy cityto finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy . Now listen and understand! 7 sets of seven + 62 sets of seven will pass from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until a ruler- the Messiah- comes. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and strong defenses, despite the perilous times. After this period of 62 sets of seven, the Messiah will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end. The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him. - Daniel 9:24-27 NLT 15"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,'[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader pay attention!… 21For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. 22If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. - Matt 24:15, 21-22

  4. Rapture (caught up) 13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words. I Th 4:13-18

  5. TribulationDan 12:1, Jerm 30:7, Matt 24:21-22 Tribulation (refers to God’s judgment during the 7 years period in general) God’s judgment & dealings primarily with the then world in general At the middle of seven (Dan 9:27), Antichrist comes in full power Great Tribulation (latter 3 ½ years) Jacob’s sorrow (Jerm 30:(7)) More specifically God’s dealing with Israel For the sake of the elect, it’ll be shorten (Matt 24:22)

  6. Those days will be shorten Daniel 7:25• He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time. [ Or for a year, two years and half a year ] Daniel 12:7 • The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. [ Or a year, two years and half a year ] When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed." Rev. 11:1-3I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there. 2But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." Revelation 12:6 : The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days. Revelation 12:14 • The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent's reach. Revelation 13:5The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.

  7. Church is not destine for wrath of God • Romans 5:9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! • 1 Thessalonians 1:10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. • 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. compares

  8. Revelation 6:16 - 17 • They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?" Revelation 11:18 • The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great— and for destroying those who destroy the earth." Revelation 14:10 • he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. Revelation 14:19 • The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath.

  9. Revelation 15:1 NIV • I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God's wrath is completed. Revelation 15:7 NIV • Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever. Revelation 16:1 NIV • Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go, pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath on the earth." Revelation 16:19 NIV • The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. Revelation 19:15 NIV • Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

  19. What can we learn from the tribulation? As a believer, I believe we have enough scripture to assure us that we have nothing to fear of the ‘wrath’ of God. If we still don’t have that personal relationship with Christ, God help us that our hearts will never be so harden, that we can’t respond even to the outpouring of His wrath. May God give us a passion, conviction to reach the lost (if tribulation is that bad, what would eternity in hell be like)?
