Direct Certification Lunch Import • Provides an import for the direct certification lunch file with an export to allow import into POS systems • Updates the student’s current lunch status & certification method (if changed) with the date of the import. • Can be executed on demand, whenever the user desires • Student Matching is on Student Social Security Number AND Student Date of Birth OR Student Last Name • Imported Direct Certification records cannot be changed/deleted. • Two ways to import • Automatic System from ALSDE (in pilot testing Nov 2013) • Manual import from InformationNOW menu system

  3. ALSDE Automatic Import • ALSDE sets date/time for import within ToolKit • District notified via email and message within InformationNOW of when automatic import is scheduled • If the district does not import prior to the schedule, the file is automatically imported from the state

  5. Direct Certification Lunch Import Interface • After the import, InformationNOW will display • Name of file imported • Number of records matched • Number of sibling records updated for Extended Eligibility

  6. Lunch Status Export • Automatically generated after each import • If using ‘Automatic Import System’ – file is automatically created and saved to web/application server. • If using the manual import system, the user is prompted to save the file.

A student’s lunch status is updated when… • A new DC lunch status record is created when the following conditions are met: • Student has a different lunch status in InformationNOW then is in the import file • The student’s lunch status is the same in InformationNOW and the import file, but the student does not have a lunch record equal to or after the ‘lunch status update’ date defined in District Settings. • If current status = 4 – 10 (Free based upon Direct Certification) , disallow any change except to code 20 (Parent Declined Services) • If current status = 20 (Parent Declined Services) disallow any change except to code 4-10 (Free based upon Direct Certification) • A sibling is found for a student in the import file based on the Custodial Parent setting (Extended Eligibility).

  9. Lunch Status Import from POS • Manual or automated process • Lunch status for students updated based on existing DC business rules (no DC students altered) • Records updated only if status changes or if it is thefirst import of new year.
