  5. 深山竹雞Taiwan Hill Partridge L 22c m在以前.深山竹雞 是很多生態攝影者所夢寐以求的夢幻之鳥. 為何是夢幻之鳥,其一是不易看到.更不易拍到.更不易了解這謎樣的鳥種.  經由這一陣子大雪山23k的鳥點訊息釋放出來以後, 在鳥友間掀起一波波上山朝聖的熱潮，連續幾天來，每日清晨6點不 到，鳥點已排滿大、小砲，瘋狂前往拍攝這台灣世紀之鳥.

  6. 台灣特有種鳥類，又名為「台灣山鷓鴣」 或「紅腳竹雞」。在分類上是屬於雉科山鷓鴣屬， 於1864年首次由斯文豪(Swinhoe)發現而命名。 深山竹雞主要分布於台灣中、低海拔之原始闊葉林內， 生性隱密，警戒心強，因此不易為人所發現。 大多以昆蟲、蚯蚓和植物嫩芽、漿果及種子等為食。 夜晚棲息於樹上， 喜好於岩石的裂隙或樹木的基部築巢。  鑑別公母只能依靠其體型大小 及身上的細部花紋差異來做判定。 一般來說雄鳥體型較雌鳥為大且壯碩， 而其身上脅部之白色斑點形狀，雄鳥的斑點較為細長； 雌鳥的斑點則較為寬且斑點數量較多。
