Who owns the finite resources in this world. God owns, people use them Lev 25:14-21 Deut 15:7-8. People own, exclude the rights of others Isa 5:8. God’s will for the world is Shalom. Who has access to resources. Open to everyone – gleaning and Sabbatical law .

Who owns the finite resources in this world God owns, people use them Lev 25:14-21 Deut 15:7-8 People own, exclude the rights of others Isa 5:8 God’s will for the world is Shalom Who has access to resources Open to everyone – gleaning and Sabbatical law Closed, exclusive rights to own, concentrated in the few Isa 5-8 Consumption Based on need Deut 14:28-29 Based on self aggrandizement Amos 6:1-6 Unbalanced, based on need from the haves to the have-nots 2Cor 2:11 Distribution of resources Exchange for gain – from the have-nots to the haves Amos 8:4 ,2:6-6

Basic outlook There is enough, trust God 2 Cor 9:8-11 Scarcity, so hoard, security is in saving up Amos 3:10 Basic value Affluence is measured by leisure over working for subsistence Affluence is measured by having more than others Amos6:1-6 Disposition of surplus To those in need 2Cor 8:14 Accumulate to support classes Amos 6:1-6 Basic goal Finite, the subsistence of all Deut 15:1-11 Infinite, wealth, people never have enough Amos 8:5-6

The Result Stewardship of resources Justice, no one is needy, no one is oppressed Deut 15:4 Acts 432-34 Minimal force needed to maintain the system Exploitation of resources Class separation, wealth in the midst of poverty Oppression and increasing force needed to maintain the system This is Shalom, God’s will for his world This is the shalom of the false prophets. what we have, when we forget whose world it is and try to make it ours
