The Pastoral Route • Qualities Needed • Excellent relationship with and judgement of children (which has clear boundaries) • Ability to deal sensitively and tactfully with parents • Ability to react rapidly to unforseen situations and work under pressure (it is a reactive job) • Emotional resilience • Humour • Team builder / people manager
