  1. Chapter 10: Lesson 5 -Titration-

  2. Need Right Combo To Create Balance = + But which blue? yellow green

  3. Titration • Uses neutralization to find concentration of acid or base • Equivalence point is when acid balances base and solution is a neutral pH of 7

  4. Moles H+ = Moles of OH- • How many moles of HCl are needed to exactly neutralize 5 moles of NaOH? • How many moles of LiOH are needed to exactly neutralize 2 moles of H2SO4?

  5. If Not Simple Mole # MAVA = MBVB • MAVA = concentration acid x volume acid • MBVB = concentration base x volume base • M =mol/L

  6. M = mol/L • How many moles of HCl are needed to neutralize 0.1 L of 2 M solution of NaOH?

  7. MAVA = MBVB • It takes 15 mL of 0.4 M NaOH to neutralize 5 mL of HCl. What is the concentration of the HCl?

  8. MAVA = MBVB • How many mL of 0.1 M Ca(OH)2 are required to neutralize 25 mL of 0.5 M HNO3?

  9. For The Rest Of Class • Work on practice packet, especially titration questions • Have pages 13-17 completed for Thursday
