Vsepr theory • The Valence shell electron pair repulsion theory states that electron pairs in the valence shell stay as far apart as possible. • The VSEPR theory can be used to predict the shape of a molecule. • The different shapes are linear, bent, trigonal planar, tetrahedral, and trigonal pyramidal. • The shapes of a molecule also affect the molecule’s physical and chemical properties.
