Proposal for Advanced Mine Clearance Strategies in Vietnam Using Robotics and Technology

This proposal addresses the critical issue of landmines in Vietnam, where over 42,000 people have been killed in 35 years due to mine injuries. The project aims to secure $10 million over five years to develop innovative solutions for mine detection and clearance using cutting-edge technology, like drones and robots. RMIT's Vietnam campuses will serve as a hub for training, research, and collaboration with local authorities and international partners. The initiative seeks to create an online mapping system, assess existing technologies, and form a team capable of modern mine clearance efforts.
