The Multiplexer or MUX • Is just another name for a switch that can select from a lot of different inputs. • We are going to look at an 8 input Multiplexer.
MUX • Given a number between 0 and 7, the MUX will select one ‘track’ to let trains through.
The MUX • The MUX can be used to select what memory location to read next.
Demultiplexer or DEMUX • The DEMUX allows one input to be sent one of several outputs. • For example if you wanted to send data to a selected memory location.
