  3. Introduction Facebook ad targeting offers business many ways to assist the right ad to the right user at the right time. In this presentation, I'll explain the six most essential questions with the answer to target Facebook users with your ads.

Questions that help you target! • Question 1 – Where is your Audience Located? • Question 2 – Are they male or female? • Question 3 – What language do they speak? • Question 4 – Do your customer fall into specific Demographics? • Question 5 – What are they interested in? • Question 6 – Are you looking to reach new or existing customer?

  6. Question 1 - Where is your Audience Located? Being able to target the right audience in the region of your place of business is incredibly powerful. If you have an e-commerce business, local targeting can still be useful. But rather than targeting the audience where you live, think about the location where people are possible to live that will buy your product. Question 2 - Are they male or female? You can target people that have classified as either male or female through the ads managers. It may seem like an obvious question, but your target may be the opposite of what you think depending on the goal of your campaign. Whichever you prefer, be sure your ads include the messaging for the audience you're targeting.

When you check your Facebook insights, you may be surprised to find that a large portion of the people that are involving with your content speaks a different language. While targeting the people with a different language, be sure that all your text in whatever video or image you're sharing matches the language you're targeting. Question 4 – Do your customer fall into specific Demographics? The most important thing to think about is your customer's demographic. In Facebook Ads Manager, you'll find Demographic under Detailed Targeting, and it relates to everything from education to financial factors like income and net worth, whether or not they own a home, when they were born, when they get married, where they work, and what they do at their job.

  8. Question 5 – What are they interested in? You'll also find Interest under Detailed Targeting. It is where you can designate an audience that is distinct to your brand or product. You can also target your audience according to your behaviours, including purchase behaviour and intent. Question 6 – Are you looking to reach new or existing customer? Last but not least, whether you're looking for your current customer or a new customer with your ads. You'll likely be doing some of each with your Facebook advertising attempts. It's easy to show this under “Connections”. Select “Add a Connection Type”, and under “Facebook pages”, you can indicate whether you'd like to target “People who like your page” or to “Exclude People who like your page”. You can also choose a “Custom Audience.”
