  5. EV-DO Forecasts – North America As of February 2006, 26 carriers have launched EV-DO worldwide. Ten of those carriers are in North America and two are MVNOs.

  9. MVNOs and Roaming? • MVNO: Host network provides access to its mobile network only. The partner is responsible for all other operations: marketing and sales, distribution, billing, customer service, and network services such as voicemail, interconnect, and roaming. • Enhanced Service Provider (ESP): Host network provides access to its mobile network, roaming, and interconnect facilities. The partner is responsible for processing call data, marketing and sales, distribution, billing, and customer service. ESP’s mobile service is offered on a postpaid pricing basis. • Private Label Prepay (PLPP): In this model, host network is very involved in the partner’s offering. The partner resells a prepaid service that is developed and managed jointly by host and the partner. The partner is responsible for marketing, sales, and distribution of the product.
