  1. MOBILITY Steven Lane Senior Manager, Marketing 31 August 2010

  2. My Goals Today

  3. An hour in the life of a field worker • Maybe go to the home office (restocks inventory, picks up vehicle) • Clocks in • Get instructions for the day (work order) • Follow instructions "drive" to first site • Begins work (requires log-in & P/W into back-office, open work ticket, proper permits) • Trouble-shooting (electronic diagnostics) • Refers to manuals, schematics • Contacts supervisor, home office, tech desk for help • Transmitted communication (email, photo, texted) • Retrieved parts from mobile inventory • Assistance arrives from near-by worker • Finish job (close work order) or reschedule for follow-up • Get customer's signature (payment, acknowledgement) • Complete necessary paperwork (billing, govermental) & transmit to office • Move onto next scheduled job

  4. So… • What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

  5. Meanwhile, back at the office • Aberdeen Group: “Six Stages of Enterprise Mobility Management” • Provisioning • Performance Management • Operations & Support • Compliance & Security • Expense Management • Decommissioning

  6. Finding common ground • When the Enterprise Mobility curve minimizes the valleys, the field worker always has the right tool for each individual job. • 12 completed jobs a day vs. 8 • 12 happy customers vs. 2 • When the mobile worker’s productivity is enhanced, the decommissioning of one generation of technology and provisioning of the next generation are shortened. • Workers trust their technology • Fewer incidents to firefight and distract

  7. Why a Field Computer? • Uncompromised Service is paramount. • Business gets done where it needs to be done. • On-the-go, in-the-field • All day

  8. What is a Great Field Computer? • Uncompromised Technology Experience • Ergonomic • High Performance • Connected • Tough • Flexible

  9. What is a great mobility solution? • Flexibility • Integration • Empowerment • Loyalty • Demand
