SEDIMENTARY ROCKS • Sedimentary rocks are classified based on how they form. • CLASTIC sedimentary rocks are formed from mechanical weathering. • CHEMICAL sedimentary rocks form when dissolved materials precipitate from solution. • ORGANIC sedimentary rocks form from the accumulation of plant or animal debris.
