FirstSearch Advisory Group

Launched in June 2012, a collaborative initiative by 12 librarians across 11 libraries aims to enhance the search experience in FirstSearch. The goal is to deliver a unified, contemporary approach to content discovery that meets modern user expectations while retaining full capabilities for library staff. This involves a series of virtual usability testing sessions, prototype feedback, and ongoing enhancements such as advanced search features, new musical presentation statements, and genre headings. The project is set to transition to a new version by July 2013, ensuring an improved user experience.
