State Authorization Issue • USDOE regulation requiring state authorization was vacated by US District Court and that ruling was upheld June 5 by the US Court of Appeals; however, state laws remain on the books. • The regulation was vacated not because the state laws are illegal but because the US Dept of Ed didn’t follow the correct process—so it’s just a technical ruling. • Remember the requirement to provide complaint contacts for out-of-state students was not vacated.   5. Tegrity Check-in We are working with Canvas and Tegrity to integrate Tegrity using LCC’s installation Will Tegrity recordings migrate to Canvas? --We think so if the user ID remains the SID or EID

  10. Canvas Contract • Contract will begin no sooner than July 1, 2012 • Implementation group will begin work on: • Administrative structure • Professional development • Integration • Migration of content • Cost model • Current ANGEL contract ends June 2014

  11. Canvas Contract • Assumes 22 colleges migrating to Canvas 2012-13 • Cost per FTE is $10.58 • 30% discount 2012-13 • 15% discount 2013-14 • Includes premium technical support

  12. Cost to colleges • Still working on the cost model for colleges during migration • Conversation on making LMS core and therefore free to colleges is ongoing • SBCTC eLearning has funds for the transition, so colleges using WAOL ANGEL will not be double-billed
