WAOL Advisory Group Meeting Summary - October 17, 2011

The WAOL Advisory Group convened on October 17, 2011, to discuss key updates and issues affecting e-learning initiatives. The agenda included state authorization changes, Blackboard Collaborate updates, Tegrity training opportunities, and progress on the Open Course Library. Notably, USDOE's recent regulation vacated by the court, but state laws remain. All sessions will be recorded, and future meetings are scheduled. State Authorization Issue • USDOE regulation requiring state authorization was vacated by US District Court; however, state laws remain on the books. • Remember the requirement to provide complaint contacts for out-of-state students was not vacated. • All information on this wiki: http://stateregulations.wikispaces.com/

Faculty paid to evaluate • March 2012—Choose vendor and negotiate contract • Begin two-year migration-- July 1, 2012
