  2. Pronouns • A Pronounis a basic part of speech that is used in place of a noun. • Find the Pronounsin the following sentence: • I was aghast when Ross told me that his mom bought her car at his uncle’s Porsche dealership in Botswana.

  3. Subject Pronouns • Subject Pronounsare used when they are the subject of the sentence. • Subject Pronouns: I, You, He, She, It, We, They • Find the Subject Pronounsin the following sentence: • I told Lucy that snakes cannot fly, but she just smiled fatuously and started laughing at me.

  4. Object Pronouns • Object Pronouns are used everywhere else in a sentence (as direct and indirect objects of verbs and as objects of a preposition). • Object Pronouns: Me, You, Him, Her, It, Us, Them • Find the Object Pronouns in the following sentence: • Levi told me that his mind was made up, his inner fortitude was at its strongest. It was over!

  5. Possessive Pronouns • Possessive Pronounsshow ownership and never need apostrophes. • Possessive Pronouns: Mine, Yours, His, Hers, Its, Ours, Theirs • Find the Possessive Pronouns in the following sentence: • A (not) famous maxim once said: what’s mine is yours, and what’s ours is theirs.
