  2. Hundreds of years ago black people were bought and sold as slaves.

  3. Many of them were captured in Africa and then transported in boats.

  4. Many of the slaves worked in farms.

  5. Slaves were often manacled to stop them escaping, and some were branded like animals so people knew who they belonged to.

  6. Men, women and children were all made to be slaves.
