The Set-Up Carly Gauthier 9/1/2014 1st period 1st Six Weeks: English I Bell Ringers • 9/1/14 – Personal Response (PR) • I enjoyed my summer because I got to spend a lot of time with my family and friends. While I didn’t take any extravagant vacations, I was able to make a few small getaways when I could. My favorite trip this summer was visiting friends in Houston. The most exciting thing that happened to me was getting engaged. I’ve spent most of my summer planning our wedding for next year! • 2. 9/2/14 – Daily Oral Language (DOL) • me and my friend weared blue jeans we wasn’t allowed in the whitney restaurant • because your late finishing the job youll have to give we boys the video games to take to jans house

  4. 3. 9/3/14 – Quote Journal (QJ) • “When you dream big, the sky’s the limit!” • You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Not dream or goal is too big to work on and accomplish. There are so many possibilities out there – all we have to do is set our mind to it and go for our goals! Anything is possible when you are determined and dedicated. Never lose sight of your goals – it may take some time, but you are capable of more than you think. • 9/4/14 – Word Origins (WO) Origin/Meaning: Greek Not, without Brainstorm: a, an, in Definition: The loss of the ability to write A short interesting incident or event Not believable List: Agraphia Anecdote Incredible

  5. 5. 9/5/14 – Video Clip Journal (VCJ) • In this journal response, you will watch a short video clip of some type! It might be educational, or it might be for just pure entertainment. You will write a thoughtful journal entry (4-5 complete sentences) in response to the clip. Example topics: How did it make you feel? Did you agree or disagree with the speaker? Why or why not? What would you have done in that situation? Have you ever seen anything like that before? Etc… • 6. 9/6/14 – PR

  6. You will have a Bell Ringer EVERY SINGLE DAY!When you enter class, have a seat & get started! You have about 5 minutes to finish this assignment each day.Bell Ringers will be taken as a TEST GRADE at the end of each six weeks. Keep up with them! If you are absent, check my website.
