On June 11, 2009, the Technical Coordinators Meeting addressed recent outages affecting email services. Power outages occurred at one of three locations for approximately one hour on May 20, and switch maintenance caused additional outages on May 24 and June 7. Despite these challenges, inbox uptime remains at 99.4%, with 100% outbound reliability. Updates on email server upgrades, including the transition from UFS to ZFS filesystems, were shared. The University of Minnesota is introducing Google Apps in Fall 2009, with an opt-in option available.
