Directions • Each student needs to pick a bug. • Draw several thumbnail sketches of the bug in sketchbook • Once I have approved the sketch, I will give you black paper to draw the bug on. • On the black paper draw a border (1 inch if 8th period, and ½ inch if any other period) • Then begin to draw the bug • Once the bug is drawn on the black paper, let me know before you start to color the bug. • Choose which value scale you would like to use to color the bug • Use the highlights and low lights that are on the original to reference on your drawing. • Drawing must have value (lights and darks) • Use shapes to fill in the background (geometric or organic)
