Who we are • Danceworks Ballet Academy was founded in 2015 on the belief that the arts have a unique power to motivate and engage young children of all backgrounds to achieve excellence. • Located in Danceworks professional studios in London’s Mayfair, the Academy offers a unique non-exam based curriculum of first class classical ballet training to students of all ages and abilities, in after-school and weekend classes plus regular theatrical performance opportunities with the associated Danceworks Youth Ballet Company. • Founding Director Kim White has brought 30 years of experience dancing and teaching classical ballet in New York and throughout Europe under the direction of distinguished dancers such as George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Alexandra Danilova, Melissa Hayden and Oleg and MireilleBrianskymaking this curriculum the best in international ballet training. What we aim for • We have developed an ambitious educational programme which aims to: • Identify and develop young talent to work towards the highest level of classical ballet formation; • Enable those who want to enter into a professional career in any of the various forms of dance or theatre arts; • Nurture students in the classical art form while combining professional performing opportunities, sparking the artist within to emerge as well as building a life-long appreciation of the arts; Scholarship student Azaria And provide scholarship opportunities for talented children from financially disadvantaged homes.

Danceworks Youth Ballet Company • In 2017, Danceworks Ballet Academy launched a Youth Ballet Company. • The programme provides opportunities for at least two annual professional performances in London theatres, working alongside renowned dancers from our faculty as well as guest teachers from major companies around the world. • The Company offers young students performance and training experience of classical ballet within a professional setting which is unique in London.   5. Sponsorship Opportunities Twice a year young dancers from 5 years upwards perform ballets such as Peter Panand Nutcracker in London theatres. With beautiful costumes and sets donated from a Foundation in the United States, these events provide aspiring young dancers with the experience of performance and training within a professional dance company. Company members are expected to attend intensive rehearsals and ballet technique classes every week at Danceworks studios in Mayfair and are given regular opportunities to perform throughout the year both in theatres and in our outreach programme to community organisations. We are now seeking private and corporate sponsors for our theatrical productions, and also for our Academy Scholarship Programme, which enables young dancers to train in the highest levels of classical ballet Forthcoming Production: The Nutcracker 15th and 16th December 2018 Location: The Greenwood Theatre, London Bridge. Target Audience: Students, parents, friends and families of students of Danceworks, primarily residing in the London area, plus Patrons and VIP’s from the arts and business worlds.   10. Faculty Kim White – Founding Artistic Director She has spent over 30 years developing a dance curriculum that trains young children to achieve excellence. She has taught at many top schools in New York such as Steps, Broadway Dance Center, Eglevsky Ballet and at schools throughout Europe and is the Founding Artistic Director of Los Angeles Youth Ballet, Ballet Romand, Ballet Riviera, The International Youth Festival and the Vevey Youth Ballet School in Switzerland.  Christina Mittemaier – Teacher Christina started her ballet training at the age of six and soon after her training as a gymnast. She became a champion in Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics and was twice named "Athlete of the Year“. Since moving to London in 2001, Christina had taken the position as head of ballet at D&B Schoool of Performing Arts, where she taught for nine years, was a ballet teacher for Morley College, guest teacher at Birkbeck College and is now teaching classes at Dancework, coaching in ballet technique and choreography. YolandiMoreira – Teacher South African born Yolandi became the youngest Giselle ever in South Africa when she appeared as a guest artist with the South African Ballet Theatre (SABT). She joined SABT in April 2008 as a soloist. Since 2012 Yolandi has focused on preparing students for entry into vocational schools and rehabilitating injured dancers with intense body conditioning and floor barre training. She has prepared students for international ballet competitions as well as auditions for companies and Summer programs and has also coached principle dancers for roles performed such as Giselle and Swan Lake.

Faculty Philipp Bolloev – Teacher Philipp’s performing experiences include the Bolshoi Ballet Academy at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, performances of Napoléon Bonaparte (Napoléon Bonaparte’s son) at the State Kremlin Theatre Palace in Moscow. He has worked extensively with numerous ballet companies in Russia, touring the USA, France, Switzerland, Spain, Finland, Taiwan with appearances in Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Cinderella, La Fille mal gardée, Le Boléro the others. CélineBarreau – Teacher Céline started her dance training at the age of 8 with Kim White at Ballet Riviera in Vevey, Switzerland. She performed lead roles in ballets such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Nutcracker. In 2012, she went on to study Neuroscience and Behaviour (BA) at Mount Holyoke College where she continued to perform in ballet, contemporary ballet, and contemporary. Julie Alltree – Director of Pre-school Ballet Julie trained in Yorkshire with Dorothy Stevens MBE. She was awarded a scholarship with the British Ballet Organization and trained with John Field and Anne Heaton. She has had an extensive career spanning twenty years on stage and television. She has also covered a wide range of styles from Jazz, American Tap and Irish dance.

Guest Performers and Artists Erico Montes Royal Ballet Dancer Erico, has been a guest artist in our productions of the Nutcracker, dancing the Pas De Deux with one of our senior scholarship students Eliska. He also assists the Academy with casting for productions. Julia Conway ENB dancer Julia Conway will be a guest artist in our upcoming production of the Nutcracker.
