Target Audience For Media Product • Broadly describing the audiences associated with thrillers, there are many sub-genre of thrillers which allure to many different audiences. • However in regards to my thriller, the main audience for my psychological thriller in particular would be mainly females aged from 18 - 35. The reason why I believe this is the main audience for my media product is because I believe females within this age range would be able to relate to the film the most, maybe from personal experiences or a greater understanding from a women’s point of view about the plot of my media product

Which explores the story of the woman (protagonist) who has lost her child which is evidenced by the scene where she kisses the picture before placing it into the locker as exemplified in the print screen below . • This particular scene changes the audiences thought of this character in particular hence this conveys her character to the audience and sympathetic. Instead of her just being portrayed as just evil and sinister.

  4. Furthermore females may also be able to relate to my media product hence the protagonist of my media product is a female who is traumatized by her loss and emotionally vulnerable/ unstable. This reinforces the stereotype of domestics and emotions which is usually associated with females in particular. In contrast the targeted audience to my thriller can also be related to the uses and gratifications theory in terms of personal identity by trying to identify with some of the feelings the protagonist is currently feeling. As the audience will be aware of these real situations that do happen in real life
