Field Trip Details • 6 credits: TRMT 396 Aboriginal Tourism and FNAT 380 Sustainable Indigenous Community Development in Mexico, Canada and the U.S. • Passports required • Pre-reading & meetings in early May • Selection Interviews • Approx. COSTS • Tuition & fees $780 • Books $60 • Travel $1300 • Accom/Meals $1200 • Activities $450 • Sub-TOTAL $3790 • Less subsidy - $500 • TOTAL $3290

Exchange Details • You pay VIU tuition for credits • Either take 12-15 credits there and transfer back OR do directed study with VIU courses • We give you a grant of • $ 2000 to subsidize travel & living for the term • Support for Spanish Language acquisition • Accommodation in Mexico with Homestay approx $300/month • Accommodation in dorms at NMSU or Montana approx US$1800-3000 for term (depending on single shared or family apartment) • Can begin by hosting a homestay here
