This document discusses the structures and functions of the Golgi apparatus and cytoskeleton in cells. The Golgi apparatus, present in all eukaryotic cells, processes and modifies vesicles received from the Rough ER, guiding their transport within or outside the cell. Contrastingly, the cytoskeleton, found in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, maintains cell shape and facilitates vesicle movement. Together, these organelles play crucial roles similar to a factory's distribution system and structural supports, respectively.

What kind of cells… • The golgi apparatus is in all eukaryotic cells • The cytoskeleton is in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells
Location of the Organelles • Thegolgi apparatus in a plant and animal cell, is found floating in the cytoplasm • The cytoskeleton is found floating in the cytoplasm as well, but is attached to most organelles
Functions of the Organelles • The golgi apparatus receives vesicles from the Rough ER and modifies them. The contents are modified with instructions of where their next location in the cell will be. • The cytoskeleton determines the shape of the cell, forms a network of highways for vesicle movement, and acts as a frame for proteins to connect to.
What Role Would the OrganellesHave • The golgiapparatus is like the distribution part of a factory because it prepares things for export out of a cell or for transport to other locations. • The cytoskeleton is like the supports for the factory because it provides a frame for the cell and determines the shape of the cell.
