  2. Origin • Early 16th century • Protestantism broke apart of Christianity , because of a man named Martin Luther spoke and he was punished. • Luther and his colleagues created a new form of Christianity which was taken in by many princes and towns in Germany.

Key beliefs of Protestantism • Their sacred texts are located in the Bible. • They believe it’s a necessity of grace to save humans from the consequences of sin. • They believe suffering is a form of evil and salvation is a gift from God • They also believe that on the day of judgment all people will be resurrected

Key practices of Protestantism • Protestantism has become something of a “cath-all” so there is no such thing as “typical protestant practices” in terms of communal worship or individual, spiritual disciplines • Some Protestant traditions do not acknowledge sacred time other than Christmas and Easter. • The rituals of baptism and the Lord's Supper have been among the most important and contentious aspects of Protestantism

  5. The major area where Protestantism is practiced are United States, Germany ,and the Scandinavian countries. • Protestantism if found everywhere and where people practice it. • 35% of the of people who practice Protestantismare in the U.S.
