  2. Rhode Island My state is Rhode Island. The state capital is Providence. The population is 1,048,319. The date of statehood is May 29,1790 it is the13th state. Rhode Island was adopted in 1897, it has 13 stars on it’s flag that represent the Original 13 colonies. The state seal was adopted in 1896, has a design similar to that of the flag. The Major rivers and Major Lakes are Providence, Sakonnet, Seekonk, and the Narragansett bay. The Coastline is 40 miles. The Major cities are Providence, Cranston, East Providence, Warwick, Pawtucket, and Woonsocket. The major Industries are Real Estate, Trade, Finance, HealthCare, Fishing, Mining, and Insurance.
