  2. What is Conflict Resolution? A conflict is a disagreement or problem. Conflict resolution is a way to solve, or resolve, disagreements among people or groups.

  3. The Process Follow the four steps, but remember that the same steps may not work every time in the same order. You may have to try more than one way to end your conflict.

  4. Walk Away Don’t say anything, and just let some time pass.

  5. 2. Smile about it. Make things seem less serious.

  6. 3. Make a compromise. • In a compromise, each person gives up some of the things he or she wants. • Each also gets some of the things he or she wants.

  7. 4. Ask someone to help. • A mediator is a person who helps both sides settle their disagreement. • Anyone can be a mediator. • Sometimes the mediator has a helpful new way of looking at the problem.
